Pel-Air Aviation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Regional Express (Rex), Australia’s largest independent regional and domestic airline operating a fleet of 58 Saab 340 and 9 Boeing 737-800NG aircraft operating a total network of 57 destinations throughout all states in Australia.Pel-Air is recruiting for the full-time position of Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) for its’ Perth line base.Reporting:This position reports to the Perth Senior Base Engineer.Position Responsibilities:Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on Regional Express Group aircraft and aircraft components within a maintenance team.Ensure all maintenance and repairs are carried out to a high standard, ensuring integrity and robustness of aircraft to meet operational requirements.Service and clean hangar, tools and groundParticipate in away from base aircraft recovery whenObserve all standards and procedures contained within Civil Aviation Safety Authority regulations, as well as individual aircraft systems maintenance.Essential Selection Criteria:CASA Part 66A demonstrated ability to perform aircraft and component maintenance, modification and troubleshooting in accordance with regulatory requirements, under minimal supervision and to strict deadlines.High level of engineering skill, aircraft system knowledge and fault finding ability.Ability to work a flexible 38-hour work week plus additional hours as required, including afterhours or weekend call-outs as required.Willingness to accept the work environment of aircraft lineA sound knowledge of aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures andWorking knowledge of WH&SA valid driver’sWell-developed verbal and written communicationA high level of motivation with a team-focused work ethic.Meet the necessary requirements to hold an Aviation Security Identity Card and Airside Driving License.Preferred Selection Criteria:SAAB 340 type rating highlyExperience on transport categoryLine maintenance operationsHolding of other aircraft type ratings operated with the REX group will be an addedA Saab 340 type rating course will be available for suitably qualified applicants with future potential to gain multiple type ratings on other REX group aircraft.Conditions:Competitive salary offered, dependent on licenses and qualifications held.
